Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 July 2026

This policy explains how we handle personal data on this website, foredesk.co.uk — what we collect, why, and the rights you have. It also explains, for transparency, the different role we play when Foredesk runs on one of our customers’ own websites.

Who we are

Foredesk is a service provided by Michael Stevenson, trading as Autaimate, a sole trader registered in England. Our registered address is 49 Vicarage Road, St Austell, PL24 2PH. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) under reference ZC115961. You can contact us about anything in this policy, or to exercise your rights, at [email protected].

The personal data we collect

When you use this website, we may collect:

How we use it, and our lawful basis

We use your data to:

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Our assistant (Bell)

When you chat with Bell on this site, it answers only from Foredesk’s own published material and does not invent answers. If your question falls outside that material, or you ask to be contacted, Bell takes your details so that we can follow up. Your messages are processed by the infrastructure that runs the assistant in order to generate a response.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted providers to run this website and service — for example website hosting and infrastructure (Cloudflare), demo scheduling (Calendly), and the AI infrastructure that powers our assistant. These providers process data on our instructions and only as needed to provide their service. We may also disclose data where we are required to do so by law.

Where your data is held

Foredesk is built and hosted in the UK. Where a provider processes data outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as a UK adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and demo data only for as long as we need it to respond to you and to maintain reasonable records of our business dealings, after which we delete or anonymise it. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to data portability. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

This site uses cookies that are necessary for it to work. The embedded assistant and our scheduling provider may set their own cookies when you use those features. We do not use cookies for advertising.

Our role when Foredesk runs on a customer’s website

Foredesk is a lead generation service that our customers add to their own websites to greet visitors, answer questions from the customer’s own material, and capture enquiries. When you make an enquiry on a business’s website that uses Foredesk, that business is the data controller of your enquiry — they decide how your details are used to follow up with you. Foredesk provides and runs the assistant on their behalf, acting as their data processor. If you made an enquiry on such a site and want to exercise your rights, please contact that business as the controller; we will support them in responding.
